Yoosaad Online Learning Platform
Learn as much as you can and do all you can - Learning as high as the mountains, as wide as the seas - No limits to what one still has to learn - Ars longa, vita brevis!
I am Beresa Abebe Tegegn, a software developer, educator, and the founder of BeckyTech and Yoosaad. My journey began in the village of Lugo in the Oromia region of Ethiopia, where a childhood passion for “fixing and mending” things evolved into a lifelong commitment to building digital solutions that bridge cultures and communities.
After graduating with honors in Computer Science from Wollega University and serving as an Application Developer, I expanded my technical horizon by completing a three-year program in Communication Technology in China. These experiences, combined with my recent MBA, have shaped my approach to software development as a strategic, multifaceted discipline.
I believe that knowledge is at its best when it is shared. While I am constantly learning, I am eager to share the insights and tools I have developed through my journey. There are no limits to what we can achieve when we exchange ideas and learn from one another.
My passion for linguistic preservation was sparked in 2018 while studying in China. Immersed in the richness of the Chinese language, I identified a significant gap: the lack of digital resources for my native Afaan Oromoo and Amharic on global platforms.
Determined to address this, I began developing multilingual educational materials, utilizing English, Amharic, and Chinese to bring the beauty of Afaan Oromoo to a global audience. This initiative grew into Yoosaad, a comprehensive platform dedicated to enhancing language proficiency and study skills for national and international learners.
At the core of my work is a simple, powerful vision: to promote Afaan Oromoo language and culture globally by 2027. Through the BeckyTech brand, I develop production-grade mobile and web applications—such as Galataafi Barumsa Amantaa—that serve over 50,000 active users with robust, offline-first digital tools.
I remain dedicated to merging advanced software engineering with linguistic preservation. I am driven by the belief that technology can—and should—empower anyone, anywhere, to preserve their heritage while achieving their personal and professional goals.
