A young man nervously kneelt on a park bench, holding out a small box to his girlfriend. “Will you marry me?” he asked.

The girl looked at him with a judgmental frown and began her interrogation. “Do you have a house?” she asked. “I don’t,” the boy replied, trying to explain, but she cut him off. “Do you have a BMW?” “None, but…” “How much is your salary?” “I have no salary, but…”

“No ‘buts’!” the girl snapped, turning her back on him in disgust. “You have nothing. How can I marry you? Just leave me!” With that, she walked away, leaving him alone.

The boy stood up and pulled out his phone, looking at it with a confused expression. Surrounded by his sprawling villa, his private helicopter, and a fleet of luxury Ferraris and Porsches, he muttered to himself:
“I have a villa, three plots of land, three Ferraris, two Porsches, and a Lamborghini. Why would I ever need to buy a cheap BMW? And how could I possibly have a ‘salary’ when I am the actual BOSS?”

The joke serves as a cautionary tale against judging others based on superficial status symbols rather than their actual character or true capacity. It highlights the irony of someone discarding a person of immense substance simply because they do not fit a narrow, materialistic checklist. Ultimately, it warns that those who focus solely on external validation often miss out on the greatest opportunities right in front of them.
